Scuba Divers Support the Shark Trust

Scuba Divers Supporting the childrens hospital for wales Ocean Quest is supporting the Shark Trust and Save the Children in South Africa

Ocean Quest as part of their ongoing fundraising and support for the Shark Trust and the Save the Children project, two internationally recognised charities, are working with local communities and organisations in South Africa to raise funds and awareness for the protection of sharks and children at risk.

How you can help: SPONSORED DIVE EXPEDITION

SOUTH AFRICA - Scottsburgh, south of Durban - 24 May 2008, for 10 days

We require participants to raise funds individually or as part of a group which will provide finances towards an expedition to South Africa and subsequent monies for our supported charities.

Our aim is to raise a significant amount of funding for our charitable organisations. We aim to raise awareness of the magnificent elasmobranch (sharks and Rays) worldwide and to promote and protect their future and vital existence. We will also be assisting with the ongoing efforts of the Save the Children project in South Africa establishing safety, protection and education for children in local communities that we have adopted.

EXPEDITION OUTLINE

Applicants:
Applicants need no previous diving experience or academic qualifications, but must be physically fit and willing to adapt and work within challenging environments. They are also required to raise at least £1200 funding to attend on the project. Part of this funding is money guaranteed for the Shark Trust and Save the Children charitable organisations. Any extra funds raised must also go to these charities.
